Microdermabrasion in Frisco, TX
Not every skin concern needs an aggressive treatment. A good number of our Frisco patients come in expecting to need something dramatic, and what they actually need is consistent exfoliation and a proper home routine. Microdermabrasion is often where that conversation starts.
The Spa by RescueMD is a physician-supervised medical spa in Allen, about 15 to 20 minutes from Frisco, under the medical direction of Dr. Olubukola Okoro, MD. We are not located in Frisco — we are a short drive away, and a good number of our patients make that drive precisely because of the supervision.

What Microdermabrasion Does
Microdermabrasion is advanced mechanical exfoliation. It removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells, which immediately improves texture and brightness, and stimulates cell renewal underneath. It is the gentlest of our resurfacing options and has essentially no downtime.
If you’re looking at broader options for improving skin texture and appearance, explore our skin rejuvenation treatments.
What It Treats
Dull, tired-looking skin. Rough or uneven texture. Congested skin and blackheads. Mild superficial scarring. It also improves how well your skincare products absorb, which makes your home routine work harder.
Microdermabrasion, Dermaplaning or a Peel?
All three exfoliate, but by different means. Microdermabrasion is mechanical and works well on congestion and texture. Dermaplaning uses a blade and also removes fine facial hair, giving an immediate glow. A chemical peel works chemically and goes deeper, making it the stronger option for pigmentation and sun damage. If you are unsure, we will assess your skin and tell you which fits.
What to Expect
The treatment takes about 30 minutes and feels like a gritty vacuum passing over the skin — mildly abrasive but not painful. Afterwards your skin may be slightly pink for an hour or two. You can wear makeup the same day and go straight back to your plans.
Aftercare
Use sunscreen — freshly exfoliated skin is more vulnerable to sun. Skip retinol and acids for a few days, and keep the skin well moisturised.
How Often Should You Have It?
Every four to six weeks works well for most people, which aligns with your natural skin renewal cycle. A course of four is where texture change becomes properly visible, which is what the buy-three-get-one-free package is built around.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does microdermabrasion hurt?
No. Most people describe it as a gritty vacuum sensation passing over the skin — mildly abrasive but comfortable.
Is there downtime after microdermabrasion?
Essentially none. Your skin may be slightly pink for an hour or two. You can wear makeup the same day.
How often should I have microdermabrasion?
Every four to six weeks suits most skin, matching the natural renewal cycle. A course of four is where texture improvement becomes clearly visible.
What is the difference between microdermabrasion and a chemical peel?
Microdermabrasion exfoliates mechanically and is gentler with no downtime. A peel works chemically and goes deeper, making it more effective for pigmentation and sun damage but with some visible recovery.
Will it help with acne scars?
It helps with mild, superficial texture irregularities. Deeper or pitted acne scarring responds far better to microneedling, and we will tell you if that is the better route for you.
Can I have it before an event?
Yes — it is a good choice for a pre-event glow. Allow a day beforehand rather than booking it the same morning.
Is microdermabrasion safe for sensitive skin?
Usually, with the intensity adjusted. Tell your provider about any sensitivity or rosacea and the treatment will be adapted, or an alternative recommended.
How far is your med spa from Frisco?
We are in Allen, about 15 to 20 minutes from most of Frisco — east on the Sam Rayburn Tollway and then a short run up US-75 to 945 Stockton Dr., Suite 6140.
Do you have a location in Frisco?
No. We have one location, in Allen at 945 Stockton Dr., Suite 6140, and we serve patients across Frisco, Plano, McKinney and North Dallas from there. Keeping a single site is deliberate — it is how we keep the same team and the same physician oversight on every treatment.
Is parking easy?
Yes. There is free parking directly outside the suite, which is a meaningful difference from the shopping-centre locations many aesthetic clinics operate from.
